Uninstalling Nimo gacked 'regular' codecs

*Note: I'm not a newbie, not yet an expert. I had the problem where all my divx and xvid movies were nothing but green blocks, so following advice in these forums, I uninstalled Nimo build 8, installed on xvid and Divx 5.05. Now I can't playback MPEG or WMV videos. I tried reinstalling WMP 9, but that didn't change anything.

AVICodec shows that the files _should_ play, but they don't. Examples:
MPG
Codec verified by AVICodec: MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD)
Does not play in WMP 5, WMP 9, Power DVD, Quicktime.
WMV (as ASF)
Codec verified by AVICodec: Windows Media Video 9
Does not play in WMP 5, WMP 9.

Whereas MPEG 1 and Windows Media Video 8.1 will play.

Help?

I had to reformat my system because of NIMO once. Others have too.
