  1. First try I converted my AVIs with TMPGEnc, authored DVD with Ulead DVD movie factory trial with chapters and a menu. Then I burned it using Ulead DVD movie factory.

Result, Some of the chapters will play on my standalone RCA dvd player (but its old so that did not concern me) I can select all the clips on the menu but some wouldnt play. Tried to play in my PC on the drive I burned it on (Toshiba SD-R5002) No go, PowerDVD wont see the disk niether will WinDVD. I click on the DVD-R drive and windows says it cant read the disk it may be corrupted etc.

Second Try, I let Ulead reencode the mpeg2 files and got the same reults.

So, should I just create the disk image with Ulead and use Nero to burn? I have purchased the plug in already.

Also The chapters I could play on my standalone did not look much better than the VCDs I would make before I got this DVD-R.What gives?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Try putting it in the other drive instead, this type of thing happens to me daily. I can only read some dvd-rs through my dvd-r/w drive and not me dvd-rom.

I always save my projects to hard drive first. That way I can play them with PowerDVD before burning to DVD-R. If it plays good I then burn it with Nero.

  7. I am using unbranded Maxell 2x DVD-R. Why woldnt these work in the drive that burned them and would kinda work in a 3 year old DVD player?

Yeah Mike I need to try that tonight. Just need more time to experiment, just didnt want to waste a lot of media.

  8. I use Dvd encrytper>dvd2one>copytodvd. I have no problems playing in my standalone dvd player. Baldrick has a user's guide in "How to burn any dvd to dvd" dvd5 to dvd5 dvd9 to dvd5. It is so simple you can't go wrong.

    (Baldrick I hope I got the title correct,sorry if I didn't)
