i wanna back up my xbox games on dvd, i know you need a modchip to play back ups im not asking for that i just wanna know how if possible to back the games up on dvdr if possible because every now and then my collection seems like it has legs and walks away

Yes it is possible. You need a program running on your Xbox called Evolution X.
Next you put the original disc in the Xbox.
Link (FTP) your computer to the Xbox through a crossover cable or hub/switch.
Transfer all files from the 'D' drive to your computer
Burn to disk.

Now this is a very oversimplified explination, there are many little things you need to do along the way, or your backup will not work.
