DID someone try the new version with ac3 .DVD Workshop AC-3
DVD Workshop AC-3 allows users to import 5.1 Surround Sound and to create Stereo AC-3 files within DVD Workshop. When burning, include Ulead AutoPlay,an autorun DVD playback software you can burn with your project to ensure PC playback of your DVD and Video CD discs. THEY SAYS you can using DVD Workshop with the AC-3 PowerPack or DVDWS AC-3, you can import AC-3 5.1 Surround Sound audio files directly into your DVD projects by either using elementary or program stream content. If you don't already have AC-3 audio files and wish to take advantage of their high compression and playback compatibility, DVD Workshop will create Stereo AC-3 files from your LPCM or WAV audio.

I had the original DVD WORKSHOP so I bought the AC-3 POWERPACK.
It has worked well in my tests.
There are screen shots of the advanced MPEG encoding parameters that can be activated by the user.
The advanced MPEG encoding parameters are available to users of the MediaStudio Pro version 7.0 NLE as well.
The screen shots are here:

The way the deal works is that the AC-3 PowerPack is for those who already have DVD Workshop.
Then Ulead is offering a new AC-3 version of DVD Workshop.
Rumor has it a new, advanced version of DVD Workshop is in the works but I don't have any timetables.
Maybe somebody else knows.

What else can you turn-on in dvd workshop 1.2 besides AC3 support? Do they use main-concept encoder in dvd workshop or was that just for the new MediaStudio 7?
-
Ulead used the MainConcept SDK to develop the Ulead MPEG.Now codec, which is the engine used in all Ulead products.
As I understand it, the ADVANCE=1 activation can be applied to either DVD WORKSHOP or MEDIASTUDIO PRO.
I have both... so it's the same ulead32.ini file.
Remember, the AC-3 PowerPack can be applied to the original DVD Workshop product and only then will you get the AC-3 functionality.
I bought the AC-3 PowerPack online... here:

Thanks Specialist,
I'm seriously thinking of purchasing dvd workshop as its menu creation is so easy and flexible to use. The program itself is very stable, never crashes on my computer. I'm using the trial for now which is ver 1.2, I noticed that motion menu duration is limited to 5 seconds or less, that's too short I think. Is it the same with the retail version, or it's just for the trial version?? -
The five minute limitation on the moving menus are only on the trial version. The full version has much more time.
-
With the full version, you can specify any duration you like for your motion menus (to the second, no fractions).
