My video source is a sony dv camcorder, i dump the video to a AVI file at 704x480NTSC. In TMPGEnc under the Video setting do I set the Aspect ration to VGA or 4:3NTSC and under Advanced should I change my source aspect ratio from VGA to 4:3 525 line NTSC 704x480 ? The end goad is a good quality VCD

  2. It sounds like it ought to be 4:3, if its standard SVCD compliant you want for the final result. If you click on the load tab, there is a selection of presets to choose from, I imagine that if you select NTSC VCD, it will default to 4:3.

i believe the recommendation is to use "VGA 1:1" if all else fails. that "4:3 525 line ntsc 704x480" for the source aspect ratio, sounds right, though.
