I tried to upgrade my firmware for Pioneer 105 using softare down loaded via this site. When I run upgrad.bat I get an error message "Available target is not found". What am I doing wrong?

  2. Did you buy the Pioneer drive as a as a standalone package or was it part of a complete PC ? In the second case it could be that u've got a oem-version which cannot be updated via the official pioneer-firmware. That's what happened to me. I used a hacked firmware instead which worked perfectly. Now I can even burn any DVD-R media at 2X Speed with perfect results so far!!! With this firmware installed you can also use the Pioneer firmware as the protection you mentioned is being disabled.
If u need it I can send it to u, but all I can say is that it worked for me. If it kills your Pioneer 105 I cannot be blamed.

I ran a check firmware programme and got this :

    PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-105
    Current Revision : 1.21
    Release Date : 02/12/06
Model : Not pioneer model. (OEM products)

This firmware is already latest version.
This firmware does not need to be updated.
