    Hi !

While searching for a filter for captured VHS-Tapes I found one of the type I was looking for on this page:
    http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/doc/en/video.xml.html
(scroll down to the section "drop")
    to eliminate effects like this

    (picture from there)

Unfortunately this program is for unix/linux systems only.
Does anybody know, if there exists a similar filter for VirtualDub or anything for avisynth ?

Would be very lucky to have one like this.
    ThX in advance
    Stefan

I do lots of freelance restoration work, and there is no way in hell those two frames are from the same exact frame, merely using software to "fix" it. No way. Not at all.

That's an embedded error, and the second frame most assuredly is deinterlaced AND comes from another frame from within that same second when the error was less noticeable.

For removing such error, you can try a good professional VCR (JVC HRS9800U SVHS VCR) and a timebase corrector (Datavideo TBC-1000). Software cannot fix a problem like that because it is an issue with the tape. Help it yes, but not removal as seen in that image. Somebody's been using too much Photoshop.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
