  1. Please, help me you guys - I just bought the first of these two computers (the Sony one) and I'm largely conflicted now - thinking that maybe I should have bought the second. This decision is based primarily on the fact that I can't find DVD-R media anywhere and the software I got with the Sony is somewhat useless to me - also that I've heard that the Athlon has better performance, etc...

Some please let me know which one is better - which of these two computers is the clear choice? Thanks:

I also think that the first one is the better choice.

AMD+ is not as good as P4 for video (SSE)

The first one is fine (the P4), though I'd suggest looking at another brand, as Sony has bad tech support and my friend bought a Sony that had no OS loaded or anything. Luckily he had me to fix it, but that's bad service.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

    The first one.

Buy DVD-R online at www.rima.com or www.meritline.com or one of the many sites out there. They are cheaper and work fine...

    thatgentleman,
I choose [None of the above], build your own. It's not hard and there are how to's everywhere if needed. If you are still uncomfortable with the process, find a local, REPUTABLE, [ma' n pa] computer merchant and tell them what you really want!

I know there was not an option #3 given.

  11. neither one, both are junk , build your own and don't worry about the overly priced P4's my AMD blows away my friends p4's all the way and are half the price, picked up a mobo 2600+ for $129 half the price a P4 2.4 was and still cheaper than a P4 2.0 go with a 1gig of ram, much better with XP than 256 or 512. Plus the CPU case you can buy for $60 is alot better than the crap from SOny or HP, cool, cool, cool, is the key to great running computer, heat is your worst enemy. I carry 3 chassis fans, I cool master cpu fan, hard drive fan, video card fan, no lockups here.
have no probs making my own DVD's and burned over 300+ using my HP DVD+R burner without a prob.
