  1. Hey guys I'm wondering how to save a streaming wvx file. ASFRecorder says it supports the format but doesn't save for some reason.

WVX files, and also WAX, ASX files are Metafiles. This means they are pointers or playlists referring to other file(s), with path information and sometimes playback instructions. They are NOT the media files themselves. They are actuall text files.

By Microsoft's definition, this is how they are to be used:

WVX is used for referring to WMV files
WAX is used for referring to WMA files
ASX is used for referring to non-standard files of either WMV or WMA type, or for ASF, or even for MPG, AVI, or BMP files.

Similarly, M3U files are used to refer to MP3 files.

Getting back to the problem at hand, if you were to open the file up in Notepad and read where the path is to the actual media file(s), copy the path and paste it into a web browser or, if you can, into ASF recorder (it's been a while since I used the app).

    HTH,
    Scott
