Why are the SVCD resolution defualts 480x480? My video gets distorted. Can I make a MPEG2 SVCD at 720x480? I have Ulead VS7 and MF2.

Yes you can make SVCD's at 720x480 resolution. When I was making SVCD's I always used 720x480. The purists will tell you that it's acually an XSVCD since it's no longer "standard". As with any new encode you should make a test to be certian your DVD player can play it correctly.

My DVD player doesn't play SVCD, only VCD. I was going to try the VCD header trick using SVCD at 720x480.

If your DVD player supports XVCD why not make a 720x480,2500kbps VCD?But I would use TMPGEnc to convert and Nero to author and burn because Ulead products can't burn XVCD's with menus.
