i recorded a video file off my video card in .mpeg mpeg2 'SVCD' mode, its 30 minutes, but MPEGmediator won't convert it past 7 minutes of the video............ so i converted the first part, then the second part. but the problem is v_dub can't append the two becuase they have different audio streams "3999.0000 vs. 4000.0000"...... how can i append the audio streams so that they coincide and i can connect these two videos???

    any help appreciated...

I'd demux the video and audio.
Then convert the audio to wav and join them.
Load up the video files in VDub.
Use your joined WAV for audio.

thanks for the help.. it worked, but it didnt' work. i started with two .avi's with .avi audio, extracted the audio into two WAV files and then recorded two videos with no sound.

i then re recorded the avis with their corresponding WAV audio files, and tried to append the new files and got the same error.

the only way i think i could fix this is if i had a utility to join the two WAV files into one, and then use vdub to append the muted videos and THEN add wav to the complete .avi.

so.. i need a util to merge two .WAV files into one. any suggestions? thanks

VDub can internally convert framerates. I do it all the time with captures (glueing my custom intro onto it forces me to 29.97 fps). As a side note, I've never had a capture be exactly 29.97 fps, it's always off a tad.

To join WAV's you can use ADDAWAV

Im interested in this because I have never been able to use Vdub to append avi's from iuVCR as they can either have audio or video framerate differences of v. small amounts. So how do we use Vdub to "internally convert framerates" and solve this problem?

  8. Virtualdub,

    File > Open > Video > Frame Rate > Source Rate Adjustment > Change To > 29.97 (if you want NTSC) > OK > audio > Full Processing Mode > Conversion > 44100 > Audio > Compression > MPEG Layer 3 > OK >File > Save As AVI

    Do both halfs then append
