  1. i can copy my dvd's now and convert them and stuff.
    but i want to check them it happend a couple of times that the lets say 5 minutes are not good, and the movie stops playing.
    so is there a program that automaticly checks the whole dvd for errors ?

    there are alternatives like rip the copy.

    but i want a prog that does it for me :P
    philips has one its very expensive and cant find a crack for it.
    (dont even know if it is what im looking for)

    so i anyone knows a FREE :P program to check my DVD-movies
    i would very happy

  2. Don't mention cracks in the forum !!

    Don't forget that the data on the disc might verify on your PC OK, but it still gives problems on a standalone. The error correction on PC DVD-ROM drives is often better than you will get on a standalone due to buffer sizes, better chipsets, and the fact it's not streaming the data in the same way your DVD player does.

    Because of this, verifying the disc will have little merit.

    However, does your burning program verify the data ? For example, Nero has the option to verify the data after a write. Norton utilities has a file verifier. I use a utility called FolderMatch which does several methods of checking including byte CRC checking (if you've got several hours spare !).

    In fact, go to somewhere like download.com and I'm sure you will find a great many file comparison programs there.

    All these programs will do is confirm the data on the disc is correct, not necessarily how easy it was to read it, which is what I think you want.

    Usually, a utility like Nero's Drivespeed will check this, BUT it relies on your drives supporting C2 error reporting, which is still very few and far between.
