Did you change media vendor? The media you have could have a newer ATIP that the drive does not have a write strategy developed for and the default write speed could be 32X. Anyway, what are you saving 10 seconds of burn time?

Look at the media or pack the media came in. What is its max supported write speed?

jeez, burning at 40x (it's not likely it's doing that right until you hit around the 70 minute mark anyway), that's going to get a good reliability and longevity score
Lets see... 80m over 40 = 2m00... 80m over 32 = 2m30, assuming constant speed and no leadins/outs, so there's some advantage there.
It's possible though that the difference isn't so pronounced, it's writing at constant spin-speed mode (progressively faster write) then switches to constant write speed (progressively slower spin) when it hits 32x... so you save about three seconds-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
Max write 40x, i'm tryin to save time, i have to copy 100 disk DISK TO DISK (VCDs). Will uninstall NEW NERO and install OLDER version work? havn't try yet cuz dun have older version. Also b4 i was able to burn at 40x.
