  1. Hi all,
I have Corsair PC3000C2 256MB on Asus P4S533. Officialy, the motherboard supports PC2100 and PC2700 memory, even though higher speeds are working on it too. CPU-Z shows that my memory is PC2700 even though its actually PC3000. Is it true? What BIOS settings should I make to run PC3000 memory at its speed instead of PC2700?
    Thanks for any comments.

P.S. I dont want to overclock anything, just run it at factory tested speeds.

  2. The only way to run those speeds is to overclock, unless you can run the memory asynch.I'm a amd guy,i'm sure someone more familiar with intel will help you.

Your motherboard determines the speed of your RAM, not the RAM itself. RAM is rated to run at certain speeds, but it just listens to what the motherboard says. It works in your computer, because the clock speed that your RAM is certified to run at is higher than the maximum supported speed of your motherboard. That's also why it only runs at PC2700. Your motherboard only knows how to run at speeds up to PC2700.

You can probably overclock, but I don't have any experience with a P4 machine.

    Are we talking RDRAM here?

I have Asus P4T533-C motherbard, and as much as I understand since the board works at 533Mhz, anything higher then RDRAM PC-1066 is a waste cause the board can't take the advantage of the Memory's speed...
