I need a little help converting an XVid file with ac3 to MP2 so I can put it on a DVD. I first used Virtualdub as per the guide on this site to convert to a .wav and that worked fine. Next I went to use BeSweet to convert the wav to an MP2 and that's where I started running into problems. Everytime I want to convert I am getting an error saying that my azid.dll is out of date, I don't even have azid installed. So I went and downloaded azid and I am still geting the same problem, with both BeSweet and TooLame. I can't use azid as it wants a .ac3 file as it's input, which I don't have. This is getting frustrating, if anyone can help me out with converting a XVid with ac3 to a straightup DVD it would be great.

    Thanks.

  2. If you have a divx (or xvid) with Ac3, you do not use virtualdub to convert it to wv. Use virtualdub in direct stream copy mode to extract the Ac3 audio. Yes it will give the file a .wav extension. Simply change it to .ac3. Next use ac3fix.exe (a command line utility available in the tools section) to fix any error that may be in ths original ac3 audio extracted using vdub. Now I reccomend useing HeadAc3he (again, available in the tools section) to convert this to mp2.

Another option is to author with the Ac3 as the audio stream, no re-encoding necessary. All you need is a DVD authoring package that accepts Ac3 files. Spruce up and Ulead DVD WS are a couple that come to mind.
