    The ifo file is just a small part of the DVD file structure. To generate it, you would normally use a DVD authoring software package. You can also use a newer version of IFOEdit to create an IFO file, however, it will not accept AVI as an input.

    You need to convert your AVI to MPEG-2 using any encoder that handles MPEG-2 (CCE, TMPGenc, MainConcept, Etc). The output from the encoder can then be dropped into your authoring software.

    Start in the HOW TO section. Specifically in the GUIDES section, converting DivX/XviD To DVD, or AVI to DVD.
