Maybe I can get someone to help me on this...
I want to convert my Goodfellas flipper to DVD-R The trouble is after I rip the vobs, change the VOB-ID#, join and rename the .vobs of side B and run it through IFOedit I get a disc with 20 chapters and a running time of 2 Hrs and 32 min. Doesn't sound like a problem does it? Except for the fact that side A of Goodfellas has 19 chapter points.
Sooooooo... does this mean that chapter 20 is the other half of the film? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a guide that will better explain how to do this. Maybe I'm being picky but I would like the movie to have all of its original chapter stops.
HELP!

I can't get it to work, you give it a try.
http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl...Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
there is a way to get chapters erased if you want,
a while ago, i tried to insert one of those VOB trailers
on front of movie, and it erased all points, after i
renamed it to 1st vob, no chapters but played ok'd,
have to use ifoedit to reprocess files, get new
video_ts.ifo's... -
I tried the above link, that's what I was talking about. It don't work. If anyone has a different suggestion please let me know.

Did you look at last vob id on side A and then bump up the id one number when joining side b?
-
Yes I did. The vob ID # on side A was "2" so I changed the vob ID# on side B to "3"
-
In Infoedit go up to VOB edit and click creat new IFO. Tell it to save a to a folder. You will use these to replace the IFOs in the your original folder. It should work cause thats what I did a couple of nights ago. Only problem is you lose chapter jumping after 19.
I don't have time to muck around so if someone knows a way around it please tells us how.

It's not that it doesn't work. In my previous post I stated that side A has 19 chapters when all is said and done the disc I create has 20 chapters chapter 20 being side B or the other half of the film no other chapter stops beyond that

I am pretty sure I know what happened.
When u created a new IFO file in IFOedit after joining side B and renaming etc. you had the wrong button as an option.
When you click on Create IFO the next screen on your right side there is a choice for VTS_01_0.IFO The one you should choose is the first one "Creat Chapter for each Cell" I think the default or the one you choose " Create Chapter for 1st Cell only of each PGC" is the wrong one.
This should solve your problem. -
If you could explain this more I would appreciate it. As it stands right now I can't find what you are talking about.
-
After you followed the instuctions of how to use VOBEDIT and join Side B and up the ID # did you not go back and use IFOedit and Create new IFO?
-
Why not just rename all the side B vob files to be in order after the vob files on side A. Like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (where 5,6,7,8 was 1,2,3,4 on side B) Then use ifoedit to make new ifo files. Then use dvd2one to compress to a dvd5 and then burn.

This is getting nowhere... of course I made a new IFO file. Flip69 please read the rest of the posts before you post.

Well when you create a new IFo file the next screen that pops up is what I mentioned above. On the top right side look for what I wrote above.
Open IFOedit and try it.
