    It Should work.
I use my PS2, and Xbox as a gide to see if my DVD is going to play in all DVD players because if you use an Apex (witch plays everything even missed up Disc), or your computer, it will fool you.

I have a few points you can follow
    1. first never use Roxio 5 or 6's Data DVD to burn your movies because you will just be makeing coasters.

    2. You can Burn your DVD-R using RecordNow as if your burning a data DVD just make use you VIDEO_TS folder is in all CAP's because if it's not it will read in newer standalone DVD players but not in the PS2 or Xbox.

3 I have had sucess using the newest Ver. of Nero (which is an upgrade on there website), I use the DVD-Video option, and drag all the files from the Video_Ts folders my DVD Mastering software ( Pinnacle IMP. DVD-Pro 2.2.2) made over to the open Window under the VIDEO_TS folder. I leave the AUDIO_TS blank (I wish I knew what the folder was used for). Nero will give you a few warning messages, and one error, before burning don't worry about them, your DVD will pop out fine, and WILL work in your PS2, or Xbox.

  4. I use Nero to copy DVDs I have made on the Panasonic E30 - and I noticed a check box option to use Playstation compatability. This may be a new feature in the latest version?

I don't have any gaming equipment so I can't test - but you may want to get the latest version and look for this option on the Write window.
