  1. I was wondering if, using TMPGenc's noise reduction, etc, you could improve a file that was already in MPEG form, instead of going from AVI to MPEG? Thanks for the comments.

    Was that initial MPEG generated from that AVI you're talking?
    If so, it's better to encode from the AVI file.
    About you can improve the quality, it depends on various details, like noise level, resolution x bitrate...
    A thing is sure: You lose fidelity in each conversion you do.
    The better way to know: Convert some pieces of file and judge yourself.
