I want to incorporate approx 30 sec of DVD footage into a production that I am producing in Adobe Premier 6 (ie: need 30 sec of AVI footage). The particular DVD is obviously copyright protected as I am unable to record direct from my DVD player to my DV video camera for uploading to my computer, via firewire. I also have a DVD ROM in my computer. I don’t want to copy the entire DVD, just the 30 sec segment. Any suggestions on how this might be achieved?

It might help you out.
I'm assuming you are versed in the techniques of DVD ripping etc. -
if its copyrighted material - how you going to add it to YOUR production .. that is not legal

Like everyone here on this forum. I am assuming this is for personal use only or that the appropriate permission from the copyright holder has already been given.

Thanks for your help.
Yes, it is for personal use. I want to place a piece of footage (about 30 sec) from a Hollywood classic into a tribute I am putting together for my brothers 50th birthday.
