  1. Been burning vcds/svcds Ok. Just got a new Pioneer A05, so tried to convert some older VCD/SVCD files to DVD with Nero.

I can convert VCD to DVD format with TMPGEnc (tho it won't convert SVCD to DVD "not supported" ??), but when I try to burn with the resulting files (.wav & .m2v ) with Nero, I get a failure because there is nothing in the VIDEO_TS folder.

I don't know where these files are supposed to come from (video_ts.ifo, & .bup) or what they should contain.

What am I missing? I searched for "video_tc" but no answer there

You will first need to Author them for DVD playback. Look at the guides to the left, or click here.

  3. Thanks ... I totally missed the point that authoring had to be FOR a specific format, e.g. "DVD"

Do you know why I can't convert from SVCD in TMPGEnc?

Raise the priority of the Direct Show filter to a 1 or 2. You can also simply open the MPEG with DVD2AVI, and save it as a project file (D2V File), which TMPGenc can open.

Canopus Procoder will let you open the SVCD file right on the CD and convert to DVD format.
