You need to have the VDR.vfp file in the TMPGenc dir for it to read the VDub frameserving file. Make sure you have the VFAPI codec for TMPGenc installed as well (www.tmpgenc.com)
Also don't delete anything from your HD until the encode is done. Basically:
The ripped DVD is stored as VOB files
DVD2AVI then produces a D2V and wav file. The D2V file is actually linked to the VOB files, it does NOT contain the movie.
Running the VFAPI codec on the D2V file generates an AVI file that is linked to the D2V file.
Frameserving with VDub produces a VDR file that is linked to the VFAPI AVI file.
VDR <- AVI <- D2V <- VOB (actually data)
The VDR just tells VDub to send each frame to TMPGenc with whatever filters you choose. -

I did install the VFAPI codec but still i can not open the file its said unsupported format.
When i start frame server the fields:
NON-A/V request: 0
Number of frames served: 0
Audio segment delivered: 0
they still have 0 after 2 hours so i click on stop serving. Is that correct, or how long does it take
to finish this?
Can you tell me that Vejita-sama. -
I'm a little confused about the steps/steup? Please read:
http://www.vcdhelp.com/virtualdubframeserve.htm
It sounds like you have your all the files needed to frameserve and you started frameserving correctly, but then you said you installed teh VFAPI codec but I can't open the file??? You're souce is DivX right?
1) Can you open the divx file in VDub?
2) Did you d/load SSA?
3) Did you d/load the SSA filter for VDub?
4) Can you setup VDub such that the VDub output windows shows you DivX video, with subs, resized, etc.?
If so, then start frameserving. Name the output file *.vdr
Run TMPGenc, under input choose *.*, then choose the your named.vdr file
This would load up the VDub output windows. Encode as normal.
The field/window that came up when you started frameserving just tells you what fields VDub has sent, you still need to use TMPGenc/CCE/et.al. to encode. -
Yes the source is an divx downloaded from the net.
I will install everything again and will try it later on but can you tell me
How long will it take before the frame server is finished?
So i don't have to click on the stop serving button.
