  1. I just bought a Sony MiniDV (DCR-PC101). Recording with this camera produces very clear video, when you view it from the DV tape. But when I use PIXELA (the capturing program provided), even other video capturing programs, it has great quality loss. The people in the video would appear to be "faceless," if you know what i mean. When I burned it to a VCD, you wouldn't even want to watch it. It's really bad!

Is it really like this? Or am I doing something wrong? I wanted to burn all recordings into VCDs, but right now I dont think it's a good idea, since it just makes the videos unclear.

Would replacing my CD-writer with a DVD writer solve the problem? Or is it the program that I use?

    Thanks, in advance.

check in the Tools section at left, under Capture utilities, and try some of the other capture software. Virtualdub is great, I've also had good luck with VirtualVCR and iuVCR.

also read the guides in the Capture section at left.

It's probably not your camera, or your cd/dvd burner, it's probably the settings in the capture software that you are using.

use VirtualDub on the HuffYuv codec and just start capping.
