I have many mpeg files on my computer, all until recently were in sync, however all of a sudden they are ALL out of sync.
I have been using tmpgenc for my encoding and has worked well until now, dont know what I have done, suspect the codec, but i dont know how to replace it if it was, media player is showing the ligos video mpeg codec when there is async.
I have installed (after problems occured) the Nimo codec pack and no change, sync seems to be out by a couple of seconds on every mpeg file i play.
I have checked through the forums, but it seems no one has come accross the same sync problems (post encoding & all files).
    Your help would be appreciated

  2. You're probably dealing with VBR videos.
On this site, you will find a guide dealing with this problem, it has nothing to do with codecs.

Thx for your help but i,m using CBR video and audio, also where the audio was VBR, i have stripped the audio with virtualdub to a wav file (high Q with 44100) and then used toolame to convert to an mp2 and multiplexed back.
this system worked fine until recently, when all of a sudded ALL my mpg videos are out of sync with audio by a couple of seconds.
this must be something that i loaded later?

Problem FIXED! The Nimo codec pack that was installed on my computer prior to me installing WMP9. everything worked fine untill i installed WMP9 then EVERY MPEG video file on my computer went out of sync by about 5 seconds.
I suspect that when i installed WMP9 it loaded its own codecs also? anyway as soon as i uninstalled the Nimo codec pack everything was fine again, all my video´s are working in sync as they was
