  1. Hi guys, having some problems copying DVD to DVDR.

Symptons: try to play copied disk, all seems fine at first. At hour, maybe hour and half, start to get block errors. Errors become more and more significant till player stalls.

The errors are more noticeable on some stand alone players, and some PC's will play disks without problems.

Media: Bulkpaq gen 4 twin speed (green top).
    Burning software: Nero.
Burning drive: Pioneer 103 (burning at single speed).

Shouldn't be problem burning this media at single speed should there? A friend has mentioned constant vs variable bitrate. Would the wrong bitrate setting cause this problem?

All ideas and suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

  2. The bitrate isn't an issue, but I would point an acusatory finger at the media. Bulqpaq seems to be variable in terms of quality. I have fallen foul of them before now and, along with other brands (to be fair to Bulkpaq, it's not just them) they tend to suffer problems as you approach the outer edge.

If the disc plays fine up to the half way point and beyond without problems, you can probably rule out the authoring or how it was recorded.

Try some more media with the same material and see what happens. I've had great success on my A04 with Nan-Ya, Datawrite Classic, Ritek G03 and e-Proformance. But nothing but trouble with Vivastar, Bulkpaq purple... the list goes on...

    Good luck !
