  1. Anyone know how to get rid of an intermission on a film to save time (space)? I want to use DVDShrink, or DVD2ONE to encode longer movies to fit on one DVD-R.

  2. <== Just to the left under 'How To', then 'EDIT' (below). Seems TMPGEnc is the easiest..

Will this work with the ripped files, or do I have to convert to MPEG2. If so, how do the vobs get converted to mpegs?

  4. Yes, it'll accept .vob files, mpeg files, etc.. (almost positive). You'll need to opt the appropriate file-type from the drop-down menu in the 'merge/cut' window of tmpgenc.. only 1 way to find out, eh? copy the files into another folder and then just importing into tmpg.

I'm guessing you have .vob files on your hdd--ones you ripped from a dvd source, yes? if this is the case, the vob files contain mpeg2 files already (along with audio, etc..).

btw, the more info you provide, the better someone can help... good luck. (and i'm new, as well..)

Yes, I have VOBs ripped from the original DVD.

Thanks for advice. I'll try it out and post results.

  6. I am unable to open and work with VOB file in TMPGenc. It says that VOB is not an mpeg file. Now what?

  8. I'm fairly experienced with DVDShrink, and I know how to crop at beginning and end of the movie. But, I don't see how it can take an intermission segment out of the center of a movie? Do you know how?

I REALLY appreciate your response, but I guess I'm dense. Could you outline the steps for that technique just a bit more? I'm not sure I understand the part about splitting it and then cropping???

P.S. the intermission is in the main movie (obviously), in one of the VOB files. It comes up as the main movie selection in DVDShrink.

  13. i never did this on a movie but i split a music video(50 songs) cropping
25 songs from all over ,splitting to 2 dvd, retaining the Original
    quality...

if u can crop just before the INT,and save that, then load back the movie
and crop the other part, then save, then load both files back in DVDS.

Hope that works, alsothe movie should have chapters point, that is
visible in DVDS,whilst PREV,which should make it easier..
