HI I am going to be buying a DVD writer soon, and would like some advice.
I want to get DV tapes onto DVD, currently i am using Studio DV v7 and to capture and then a combo of Tmpgenc and Easy CD creator to make a VCD.
how do i go about authoring a DVD? should i go for DV v8 ,which has DVd support? or go for full version Tmpgenc, to make Mpeg-2s and then Esy cd creator 6, which has DVD support????
any adivce on this and how generally to get the best results for DV - DVD would be great
Thanks!!!!!!!!1

if you have had good success using Studio7, then I would recommned Using Studio8. there were some rebates being offered a while ago, look around before buying.

Some people are having problem with PS8, but it works great for me. I am using it for Home video (from DV camcoreder). I do not sugest it for anything else. You can find some info here...
Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing
other than that.... do some search...
One more thing. Version "Pinnacle Studio 8 DV" includes firewire card that you already have from version 7 so if you decide to buy it, buy just "Pinnacle Studio 8" (no DV, AV or Deluxe). And look arround for good deals. If you are not in rush, you can see it time to time for about $20 after mail-in-rebate.Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home)
