  1. hello i dont know antything about making dvds and stuff so i would be glad if someone could help me.
    i would like to fit 400 min on a dvd (16 episodes) what is the easiest way to do that?
    i dont care much about the quality, the source movies kass quality anyway.

  2. Well, let's break out the old bitrate calc.

    hmm... 400 min on 1 DVD. 1301 bit's - average bit rate.

    At that bit rate you are just better off looking at a brick wall.
    Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

    You might want to make a CVD encode and burn it to a DVD.
    the res of CVD is 352,480 and thats in the DVD spec.. Also it will look better than the DVD res. because you wont see as much noise and blocks

  5. sure vcd quality is allright
    i have decoded one clip to about 1300 kbit/s and it looks ok
    but how should i get it all on one dvd if i want menus and stuffs too.

    Yes, you can either use mpeg1 352x240/288(vcd) or mpeg2 352x480/576(cvd) on a dvd-video and it will be fully dvd compliant. But remember to use 48 khz audio.

    That will give you ~6 hours Full D-1 720x480(576). If you are going to put TV episodes, I suggest you use KDVD Half D-1 352x480(576), which will let you put ~10+ hours on a DVD.
