Howdy,
My DVD player is apparently very pickign abotu CDRs but not as finicky about CDRWs. So, I'm going to try burnign a VCD to a CDRW and just want to make sure if there anything In eed to know about certain programs messing up the CDRW and making it not re-writable or anything like that.
I have Roxio CD?DVD creator 6 that I'd most likely be using to do the burning.
I only have a couple RWs and just want to make sure I'm not going to mess them up if I test a few mini videos on them to make sure they work.

Hey kelemvor,
just so you know, you have no worries. CD-RW's will not get screwed up by writing to them with video. Although for some reason they do not make 700meg CD-RW... so you are stuck with 650meg.
As for your CD-R problem, i had the same thing... go buy 5 packs of different brands of CD-Rs (memorex, verbatim, etc) and test them all out... some players will only play certian makes.. strange.
Mine work best with verbatim.

I use CD-RWs most of the time and I got the 700MB/80min made by Memorex. Now I'm not sure about Roxio EasyCD 6 , but when I used EasyCD 5 Platinum I screwed up couple of CD-RWs and I can't erase them anymore, so since then I stop using Roxios products and I stick with Nero, because Roxios EacyCD sucks.

Memorex CD-RW's are crap, I had some and returned them. There was a post quite a while ago and Memorex R-w's give everyone trouble. The Cd-R's are OK though.
If you can't erase a CD-RW and use it again it's because the media is bad, not your software!"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
i must have bad luck because everytime i burn a cdrw it ends up getting scratched really bad in my apex. oh wait maybe memorex cds do suck. hmph.

I would really like to try out a different brand but Memorex are one of the cheapes, and also you can find them in every store. What brand are you guys using, where do you get them from and what is the price.
Hey ZippyP. I see you live in Canada same as me so where do you buy your CD-RWs from and how much do you pay? -
Office Depot brand (Mitsubishi on the ID), $4.00 for a pack of 3.
