Hi
Would like to know what brand of dvd rom drive to buy with a new PC that will give good performance for dvd rips. Planning on using a pioneer Ao5 recorder in the setup.
Thanks

Lite-On DVD ROMs are very good for ripping. The average DVD Rip time with mine is approx 12-13 minutes for a 7-8 Gb DVD. It is 20 months old so the newer models may be even quicker. I haven't actually sat there and watched it all the way through but I have noticed speeds of 8x. My Pioneer 104 is restricted to 2x and takes 40 mintues or so.
