    I can't figure out how to deinterlace a avi file in Descaler. Can some one give me simple instructions?

    it doesn't do that. it takes an interlaced analog video stream and deinterlaces the stream for display on your computer monitor or lcd/dlp projector.

    There is a deinterlace direct show filter that can be used with graphedt on avi files or iuvcr on captures to deinterlace but my results have been spotty.
