  1. Guys ,

Iam trying to convert an avi file ( captured from an analog camera ) to a mpeg2 file so that i can make an SVCD out of it .
Anyhow - everytime i convert it - the picture is just garbage - green grey - all colours of the rainbow squares are on my screen - but the sound is ok . When i convert it to MPEG1 - it works just fine ( except the quality is pretty bad ) . My first thought was that the size i captured with was wrong - i captured it in a vcd format . So i resized it with VirtualDub - making it work as a frameserver for TmpegEnc . The picture looks fine in TmpegEnc - but when i try to play it - it is garbage again . Then i made a streamcopy ( it is a 4G file now ) but still only garbage . Iam pretty sure that iam overlooking something here .... but i cant figure out what ....

    Thanks already ...

With what did you capture it? What capture card? What capture codec? Bitrate? What capture resolution? What software? Your profile is blank, can your machine keep up? It sounds like a XviD/FFDShow problem, with the green.

  3. My PC is a 1400 AMD Athlon Thunderbird - The capture card is a MSI with a Video in . I captured it as an AVI with 352 x 288 .

I actually found out that my stand alone DVD will play it just fine - but now the sound is gone .... weird stuff ...
