  1. Been using it for three days now and like the fact it's at least three times faster than Instant Copy plus the picture quality is the best IMO. I did a 7.9GB movie tonight which only took about 70 minutes and even though I reduced the extras to 30% the whole copy just looks fantastic. Glad I bought this software.

I maybe have to add it to my dvd ripping guide then. It doesn't burn right?

No it doesn't do any burning which is fine with me as I prefer to use RecordNow Max anyway. DVD95 is so easy to use just tell it where to put the finished file and what ripped file you want to process press start and off you go.

  4. It' twice as fast for me...not three times
    Matrix took 1 hr 46mins = 106mins with IC7
    and 53mins with dvd95copy

    106 / 2 = 53....
yes it's definitely may turn out to be the best out the very soon.

    oh yea...dvd2one took 20mins btw.

Ive used dvd95copy on a couple of movies, it is faster but backing up North by Northwest, it was blockier than the IC7 effort. It had also lost the soundtrack for the 'making of' feature. Being 1/2 the speed of dvd95copy, does IC7 do 2 pass encode/transcode?

I have both Instant Copy and DVD95COPY. I backup the movie only and prefer DVD95COPY for quality over Instant Copy. However I do notice quite a bit of pixilation in dark movies like The Ring and Panic Room, especially on the dark clothing when really "looking" for it from only a couple feet away. Much more than Instant Copy produces. But at normal viewing DVD95COPY seems more detailed than Instant Copy and the pixilation is not seen at this viewing distance. If Instant Copy ever addresses the file size issue it might surpass DVD95COPY for movie only(IFOedit beforehand) comparisons. I'm only getting 3.9GB file sizes for Instant Copy while DVD95COPY is giving me 4.35/6 sizes every time.

    Just my opinion...

    And time wise
    The Ring(movie only) transcoding time
Instant Copy 105 min (turned off preview window)
    DVD95COpy 52 min
    It's twice as fast

  7. I think dvd95copy will surely appeal to many. Here's my three way screenshot comparison.

Thanks for these comparisons mrbass. While i can't see no difference between the DVD2ONE & DVD95COPY pics there is a massive difference in the IC7 it is just so much more sharper & the best pic for me that illustrates this is the one with the flames DVD2ONE & 95COPY are very blocky but IC7 is very sharp with no blocking. Some people outthere may not see much or any difference & i say to them if you look with a TFT you will.I should also like to say i have all 3 progys & will continue to use all 3 but for the most i have found IC7 to be my favourite,at least for now.

Version 1.3 is already out, THis software looks like it could be one of the best , I tried DVD2one its very fast but doesnt give you options to leave out subtitles and stuff you dont want, I use DVDXCOPY but doesnt give options to leave out stuff most movies have to go on 2 DVD's it has the best resolution though, I tried IC its too slow I dont want to wait that long, this program seems like it has the possiblility to be the best one out yet I have havent tried it yet because their purchase link doesnt work crap any body know where I can get it.

I had the same problem with the purchase like not working. Turns out the link is a java script so to make it work I had to disable Norton AV, Norton Personal Firewall, and my popup blocker "AdSubtract" then reboot my computer. After that the link worked. Also you need to of course have the java console enabled in IE6.

Right after you enter the destination folder and source folder the next screen allows you to select what audio you want keep plus the same for subtitles.

Thats true, you do nothing more than check the approiate box for the subtitles or audio that you want to keep. Its very simple and fast.

Isn't there a package of registry hacks for Instant Copy floating around the web? It enables some features that allow you to customize what's included in your backup, the desired quality, etc. Haven't you heard of this?

i tried dvd95copy yesterday, with mixed results. the dvd i tried was the office. which was over 7gb. dvd95copy took about an hour to process it. however the vobs came out at only 2.33gb!
i burnt the vobs to a dvd-rw and looked at them on my tv. although the menu's looked a little grainy. the episodes looked good. however, i then realised that excluding the last episode, only half of each of the first five episodes came out! sure enough i compared the original dvd files and the processed files and found that the second vob for each of the first 5 episodes was missing! has anyone had a similar problem? how do i solve it?
surely dvd95copy should'nt leave out any vobs?

Because of various glowing reports about DVD95Copy, I finally decided to tried it. LOTR-FOTR extended version-disc2. Indeed DVD95Copy version 1.1 is at least twice as fast as Instant Copy. The reencoded and compressed files played OK on PowerDVD but when I attempted to burn the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero 5.5.10.15 (latest) guess what:
    1. DVD video files allocation failed
    2. When I proceeded anyway, there was a read error.

This is the same problem with IFOEdit when I split the movie in two. This was found to be a bug in IFOEdit and there is a manual fix to it by Derrow the IFOEdit author. My question is does anybody have this problem? Is it a bug?

I do not have this problem with Instant Copy or with DVD2ONE.

  21. You are using a very old version. 1.3 is the latest release....1.4 is in Beta now. Those problems were corrected.

  24. 1.4 BETA works better than 1.3, so make sure you ask for it. I was having problems eliminating some VOBs with 1.3, but 1.4 BETA works great. It keeps getting better!

I've done 10+ DVDs using DVD95Copy 1.3 and later successully and it all plays on my fussy Sony standalone. For my burning method, I use current Imgtools using current Nero's API with reallocation checked.

Sony's are quite fussy and you must feed em quality backups or else they spit em out

if it ain't compliant due to stripping parts of the movie out incorrectlu (sometimes even the compression programs mess up) or you have burnt it wrongly, it will just refuse to play it

the risk is yours to take evrytime you click burn

Inconsistent output files...I have tried copying JLo Puerto Rico concert and after using DVDecrypter, I see there are 4, 1 GB VOB files plus other smaller ones. At one time, DVD95copy outputs the correct number of files, meaning all the VOB files. After a couple of days, after I have deleted the previous output files of DVD95copy, later, when I try to use DVD95copy on the same output files of DVDercypter...some files are missing (it only give me a total of 2GB when it should be 4GB+

I have the latest 1.4 and what might cause this output inconsistency....

Output drive is defragmented and all..

    Thanks

I think this is a one off my friend

all I would do is rip it again using filemode and see what DVD95Copy does then

I tried to backup FACE OFF, and having problems as far as the output files. I posted earlier regarding the same problem with JLo concert DVD. The program will say it is finished but out of the 7 1 GB vob files, it only outputs 1 of them and only about 10 minutes.

I will post the screens to show more clearly what the problem is.

DVD95 is set to 30% repack...

There are times that the program runs correctly, but more often it gives me this problem of not outputting all the files...

Anybody has any advise or have experienced the same problem...

Is it possible that it cannot process a certain file, does not give any error and just displays the pop-up that it is finished?

I am posting this same message at the DVD95 forum
