  1. http://www.bbspot.com/News/2006/11/home-theater-regulations.html

Here is the first paragraph. WTF!

"Los Angeles , CA - The MPAA is lobbying congress to push through a new bill that would make unauthorized home theaters illegal. The group feels that all theaters should be sanctioned, whether they be commercial settings or at home."

That's gotta be a joke. Otherwise, I am baffled.

  4. This is satire. You can relax. It is not real.

This same story was on slashdot, dig and several others as being fake.

The MPAA defines a home theater as any home with a television larger than 29" with stereo sound and at least two comfortable chairs, couch, or futon. Anyone with a home theater would need to pay a $50 registration fee with the MPAA or face fines up to $500,000 per movie shown.

Just that part should tell you there would be a major revolution if they tried that shit
Hell they would get me for at least 3 theater's & the 4th room would be iffy

But alot of people would get off for only having 27" tv's

Oh wait, minus 1 room, i only have a 27" in my bedroom :P

So what if you have a movie projector and surround sound? That's got to be worth a $1,000,000 fine for my setup

If they raid 'yer house just move the projector closer to the wall... That'll confuse the crap out of 'em.
