    I just bought my first DVD Writer which is a LG Electronics GSA H10N. I have no idea as to which DVD blanks to buy. Could someone tell which are the best ones for my DVD Writer? I am referring to DVD -R/W; DVD +R/RW. Thanks

    Media manufactored in Japan have the best reputation. Especially, Tayio Yuden & Verbatim. Remember to check the package(s) for the words, "Made in Japan."

    You can usually get good deals on media from Rima.com, Supermediastore.com, and Meritline.com. NEVER buy anything from Wallyworld.

    With the Verbatim which do I get: 4X, 8X, or 16X.

    Verbatim 16X DVD-R DataLifePlus Media Shiny Silver in Cake Box Spindle. Do I want the DataLifePlus?
    If I take say 16X and put it in a 8x burner will it work?

    According to Supermediastore:

    4X = 1X- 4X DVD recording speed

    8X = 1X- 8X DVD recording speed

    16X = 1X-16X DVD recording speed

    Note: Your results may vary. So, don't buy a large quantity until you've tested a small quantity.

    RE: buying Datalife, DatalifePlus or DigitalMovie, that's entirely up to you. They should all work fine. Again, make sure the package says, "Made in Japan" or you could be getting a second rate disc.

    BTW, all Taiyo Yuden discs are made in Japan (unlike Verbatim discs).

    4X = 1X- 4X DVD record speed

    8X = 4X- 8X DVD record speed

    16X = 1X-16X DVD record speed

    As above, your results may vary. So test a small quantity before buying a large quantity.

    Good luck!
