Hi,
I'm having problems with the DRM protection on my Terminator 2 Extreme DVD.
I bought it in the USA and broght it with me to Brazil.
But now the High Definition version on disc 2 won't play from here.
The program says that I cannot see this version outside USA and Canada.
But the DVD package doesn't say anything about that. If a knew I wouldn't be able to play the High Definition version in my country, I wouldn't have bought this DVD.
Does anyone know how to play this version in my PC bypassing the DRM protection ? Can I find a DRM crack on the internet ?
Since I payed for the disc, it's only fair that I would be able to play it.
Thanks,
Luiz Felipe

change the region code on your DVD player to region 1 (limit 5 times)
or
get a firmware hack that makes your DVD player region free, then get a region free program to trick your OS -
Stiltman,
It's not a problem of region encoding. My DVD-rom is region free.
The DVD-Video content plays fine here. The problem is the Windows Media High Definition version on the DVD-Rom content.
Even if my drive is region free, the Terminator 2 file must get a special authorization on the internet for the movie to play. Problem is a I have a braziliam IP adress, and the program only allows IP from within USA and Canada.

So you're saying everytime you play the DVD it authenticates to the internet?
What happens if you don't have an internet connect? Are you SOL?
Boy that sucks!
Heck I didn't even know there was a windows media codec for HD -
Without internet connection the program refuses to open the file.
The autorization lasts for only 5 days. After that a new authorization is required.
You can find lots of HD material in here:

Looks like SOL
Q: Is the High-Definition feature (Disc 2) protected with any encryption?
A: The Windows Media movie on the ROM portion of this disc contains security features that require users to connect to the Internet to receive licenses for the content on the enclosed DVD. There is a 5 day unlimited play license issued to users on the specific PC used to play the content. Consumers will be able to continually renew their license for 5 days at a time, according to the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA).
Q: Who set up the DRM protection for the High-Definition Theatrical feature (Disc 2)?
A: Artisan Home Entertainment determined the specific DRM licensing rules that were applied. The DRM services for the content on this disc are being provided by SyncCast using Windows Media Digital Rights Management. For more information about the technology used to protect content on the disc, please visit the company's Web site at http://www.synccast.com.
Q: Can anyone watch the content? Are there any geographical restrictions?
A: Artisan is distributing the DVD in Region 1 (US and Canada) only at this time. The DVD-ROM follows the region restrictions in much the same way that the DVD video does. Only users in Region 1 will be able to unlock the content for viewing.

Use a US based proxy server so that your IP seems to come from the USA. Try http://www.surfola.com
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
This problem of the HD T2 Extreme DVD Disk 2 play is nothing to do with Region 1 coding at all.
It is authentication of the computers IP address which must be in the US and Canada. It must have Internet access to get the license for 5 days on satisfactory geographical IP address.
I am in Australia. I’ve got the same disk and I can’t played it either even if the DVD-ROM as region free or multi-zoned. -
Your answer is proxomitron.
