Has anyone else experienced difficulties in making backups of Disney's Bambi II? I ended up making 4 coasters trying to use NeroReCode for this movie, then I tried CloneDVD2, which aftr a sampling, seemed to work.
With Nero, doing "burn-at-once", it would get to less than 25% of the disc, and, then I'd get an error message saying the burning failed because I was out of memory! I flushed my system, and, checked to see how much was left on my HD-even though supposedly when you use the "burn-at-once" option, it is not supposed to be using the hard drive. Anyway the hard drive had approximately 3/4 of its rated capacity open. So I don't understand what Nero's problem was.

If anyone has experienced this problem, or, has an idea what went on, do please write. Btw, I used NeroReCode to make a back up of a different movie from a different releasing company, and, had no problems.

    Thanks.

isn't NeroReCode just a repackaging of DVDShrink? I seem to remember a guide that implied, if not stated that. And, I nearly always use AnyDVD to unlock any copyguard/ region specific codes on movies I want to back up. It's the only companion program for all back up programs.

From my understanding, the author of DVD Shrink was hired by Nero to work on the NeroReCode project, and for the most part...Recode is basically Shrink.

I've never used the Nero 'version' but I've heard a lot of people having problems with it when others using the ol fashion Shrink are having good results. I'm just not sure of the absolute differences Nero & Shrink have, but I am sure there is quite a bit of bloat involved.

In addition, I alway use Alcohol 120% to burn....so (at least for me) DVD Shrink + AnyDVD + Alcohol 120% seem to be the winning combo.

That is what I thought I remembered. I have used the DVDecypter/DVDShrink method, using both Decyrpter, and, Nero to burn the Shrink results, It's just that I like a one step solution.
