    Hello everyone,

this is my first post and being new at ffmpegX please bear with me.

I've been trying to create DVD with subtitles with the aforementioned software. The problem is that at the end of the encoding process I end up with 5 files but no DVD folder.

    The 5 files are:

    moviename.ac3

    moviename.m2v

    moviename.mpg

    moviename.xml

    moviename.s.mpg

Reading previous threads, my impression is that the xml file should instruct FF to author a folder, but obviously this isn't happening.

    Any suggestion?

    Many thanks in advance!

What does the Process Information log file say? Post it here.

Most likely the Process Information log will show the error that prevented the completion. The error description should hint at steps to prevent the error.

Baldrick and Case: thank you for your replies. I'll post the beginning and end of Process Information log below. I'll substitute the real movie name with "movie.name":

Let me know if you need any other info in order to diagnose the problem.

    Thanks!

The video and audio were successfully encoded and multiplexed. The output is the .mpg file. The good part is that you won't need to do this time-consuming step again, as ffmpegX provides tools to continue from here:
In the Tools tab, there is an Author sub-tab, with .mpg and optionally .srt as input, and a DVD folder as output.

ffmpegX cannot process adding VobSub subtitles (.idx+.sub) as selectable subtitles for DVD. I suggest finding a SubRip (.srt) subtitle file for your movie (1) (2). It's much easier (and faster at this point) than the workarounds.

    Hey Case,

    thank you SO much!!!

I authored as you suggested and everything went fine!

Also, I'l make sure to use only .srt subtitles from now on.

You are a genius! Thank you again!
