  1. Hi,

I searched the forum and couldn't find a solution.

Is there a way to convert a ps3avchd ISO file to MKV?

    Thanks!

Extract the m2ts(in the BDMV folder) from the iso using isobuster or daemon tools. And then convert it to mkv using xvid4psp.

Try it before you thank me. Because it might not with all m2ts. You can also try convert using RipBot264 and Megui

  6. OK, so xvid4psp crashed immediately...

About 8 hours ago I started the conversion with RipBot264 - now it says 14 hours more!

    Normal????

  7. 22 hours!!!

    1. Is that normal?

    2. The m2ts file was ~7.5GB. The MKV is ~3.5GB. How come?

    Thanks!

(and Baldrick, now I can say thanks AFTER I tried your solutions )

  8. I also cannot figure this out, it seems as though the video stream becomes corrupt or something mid-way through all ps3avchd files. Whenever I try to use tsremux in linux, it stops at 3.7GB, and whenever I try with mplayer, it also stops dumping at 3.7GB. Anyone have any ideas?

Why not burn to a disc and play back on the PS3 or any AVCH capable Blu-Ray player.

I mean that is what it was created for :P

  10. well... I don't have any DVD9's and am trying to avoid the cost of them. I have tons of spare disk space on an external disk. It would be great to extract it and convert it to an mpeg4 with AAC and play it back off of my external disk.

PS. I'm also in Pittsburgh, hi!

Actually it's a no brainer for me, considering the price of a BluRay movie vs. burning to a DL disc..
Having said that ,try Baldricks suggestion and extract with Isobuster or daemon tools, then use XviD4PSP and convert to .mp4 ...
If I was doing it I'd extract and split video, and burn using two DVD-5 discs...If I didn't have DL media that is...You will have to physically change discs however....
BTW, once extracted, there's no need to burn anything, just play your .m2ts file..After all why convert when you have plenty of HDD space right?.....

Stupid question guys- how do you 'see' the ISO mounted via Daemon tools on a Windows PC? I tried this and couldn't view the PS3 ISO.

    Am I missing something obvious?

I don't own a PS3 and wanted to convert the PS3 file to MKV as well but couldn't view the file(s) in Windows.
