I don't know - regular coke has too much of a bite for my taste. I like the flavored cokes and the other varieties like sprite.
However PEPSI is still my first choice - AND MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

The good news is you can get both Pepsi and Coke at Walmart.

Why? Because YOU dont like them? That means everyone else should hate them as well? Egocentric much?
To me, that store is neither good nor bad. They are what they are. They have pretty decent prices for mediocre products. If I am in a bind and need something quickly, I have no problem running in for something.
I suppose I only gots half a brain 'den. Aww shucks. Woe is me.
Now run along plague boy!!!
-
i also run in from time to time if im in a bind. this topic came up over thanksgiving my mom said dont ever go there boycot them type of tqalk. and i asked why. she said because they tyake advantgage of their employees and pay low wages. and i said. thats not walmarts fault thats the employees fault. if they dont like it then quit. they are holding them there at gun point. i went on to say that wal mart does a good job of selling thigns at a low price and thats great for xmas and b-days. BUT and this is a big BUT since this ive been reading up and even watched a tv doc about walmart and their practices. i know feel they are almost likea sweat shop and should be very sevierly punished. stories of a woman in her 9th month that was having pains and cramps and thought she was in labor telling her boss and asking if she could go to the Dr. the boss said if you do i will write you up and you wont get paid for the part you were her. the girl stayed at work in fear of loosing her job. thats just crazy and one of many stories on this show. the managers are trained to be and pushed to be this way to keep cost down. yet a stor manager of a regular walmart not a super store make over 90k a year while a regular new employee only gets 8 an hour and most are kept at less than 32 hours so they are not full time. another thing is they will fire you if you promote union in the work place. it takes over two years to make 10 an hour.. now that is not wal mart its the employee, if you dont like it leave but damn. under 16 k a year for the worker and over 90k for the manager. oh and if you manage a super store its over 100k a year.
my point is, the company as a whole is a good idea and helps. but their rules and policies are criminal nd need ot be addressed.
this doc also said they get away wth it because they are a world power and have the power to change a counties econ, 267BILLION in sales a year is not chicken feed. they beat GM, Microsoft, you name it.
i wish i woulda bought stock when Sammy owned his 5and dime. id be a ritch SOB.
most mom and pops HATE walmart wen they move in town and are forced to cut costs so much they cant make it and end up shoping there to make ends meet..
how ironic...
how bad do we need them? could we make it with mom and pops as consumers? do we really need walmart? or do we need walmart because of them? you only make 8 an hour so you have to shop at walmart. so in a sence they are getting a good portion of their money back in employee shopping for food and gifts.
chicken or the egg?

Please explain to me how either of you can have a clear conscience when you know their workers (foreign and domestic) are working in sweat shop conditions. Ironically, Walmart once proudly advertised their goods were "Made in America." Then they became greedy and started exploiting workers at every level. What's worse is that other businesses are now following the Walmart example. If this continues, no worker is safe. While you personally might not notice the pinch, your children and grandchildren will definitely notice. But, I suppose there will always be short sighted individuals who only understand they saved $1.98 by shopping at Walmart. What a sad comment on today's society.

There are a number of reasons that WM is the behemoth it is today. They keep labor costs down with lower wages and relying largely on part-time labor for which they don't offer benefits. But they're also able to keep the ball rolling with billions in sales every year. Some of it is becaue they have low prices on many things, but the biggest draw of Wal-Mart, at least in areas where there are other options is the ability to do (almost) all of your shopping in one place. Everything from food to electronics to toys to clothing and just about everything in between. Most people would rather get everything at once at a reasonable price rather than drive all over town chasing the lowest price on each item only to have the difference eaten away in fuel costs. When I lived in Chicago and Los Angeles, I'd never set foot in a Wal-Mart. Now that I live in a small town in OK, I'd be hard pressed to cut them out of my shopping completely. I get why people don't like them and I can't say that I disagree with a lot of it, but barring any major screw-ups on their part, it will be a while before they're run out of business by businesses OR consumers.Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

I'm on the fence about Wal-Mart, it's capitilist society but there are limits and the word monopoly starts to enter the picture which is no good for anyone. The biggest issue with them is the tremendous power they have over the manufacturers. Do search for what happened to Rubbermaid to see what I mean. When you have a company that can put a multi million dollar corporation out of business on whim you have a problem.

I don't think you can tell me that you haven't purchased or wont ever purchase or be partisan to anything involving these stores/companies again.
Its funny you say that Walmart is ruining the economies of many countries. There are studies that have been done that say sweatshops are HELPING poverty stricken countries. Without those sweatshops, most of the people working in them wouldnt have ANY income at all. Or, having these same people (who work in sweatshops) working out in the fields performing undue manual labour in the scorching sun with no water breaks. I'd take a job indoors making tshirts anyday over that. Which leads back to what I said earlier, for every person who bashes Walmart, there is another person to defend them. For the record, Im NOT defending them. Just playing devils advocate.
Your last line made me chuckle. "What a sad comment on today's society." Interesting. Get off your high horse and join us regular folk down here for a moment. There are FAR worse things going on in our world. Put it into perspective for a minute. Besides, who gave you the task for deciding where the bar is for what is acceptable or unacceptable in our society? What pisses me off about people like you cant put your thoughts through without insulting people (ie. anyone with half a brain avoids .....). Who are you to imply to anyone else that what they find acceptable means they only have half a brain?
Like I said, I have no interest in Walmart, good or bad. I could care less if they make a trillion a year or go belly up tomorrow. I go in there when I am in a bind and have little other options.

I don't shop Walmart simply because they are scummy. I've been to at least ten in California, and they've all been like junkyards: cluttered aisles, items strewn all about, and just generally messy.
Which is on top of their clientèle. Seems like only ghetto-trash and welfare rats shop there. Women hauling 40 kids from 62 different daddies, homeless people, and all other dregs of humanity.
...and the whole destruction of America thing.
Seriously.

Lucifers_Ghost:
Walmart's poor business practices have been well documented over the years and so have the successful law suits against them. IMO, people with a conscience should boycott them and any other company that has poor practices. (Sorry you don't have a conscience - maybe you should be managing a Walmart...)
Unfortunately, there are some individuals who have no choice but to shop at Walmart. It's likely because they are victims of Walmart or Walmart-like businesses. However, those who have a choice need to be unified against the Owners and Managers. Otherwise Walmart will take over, and we'll all be living and working in sub-standard contions. Is that worth saving 2 or 3 dollars now and then?
