Is there any way to do this without losing the menus?

This can also be done using:

DVDDecrypter and VOBBlanker, and then your favorite burning tool.

    OR:

DVDShrink and VOBBlanker, and then your favorite burning tool.

VOBBlanker can be used as a tool to maintain functioning menus, so they appear on both discs. Any menu items that point to an invalid function will do nothing of course. However, any menu items that point to a valid function will work, as normal.

There are guides out there for VOBBlanker. I recommend them, should you decide to go this route. VOBBlanker can look scary the first time you fire it up, but it is actually a piece of cake, once you know what to do.

After splitting a dvd9 using DVDFab my standalone DVD player skips through a number of tracks at the end of Disc 1 and at the beginning of disc 2 before finally playing the DVD correctly.

Investigating further I have found there are scene selections for chapters that are on the first disc and most of the special features do not play anything.

Check out the guides section. There's at least a couple of different methods/software that can do this.
    If in doubt, Google it.

thanks , i have read those.

I suppose what I getting at is, how do I split the menu into 2 parts so that only the relevent chapter list displays on each DVD?

...and how to stop the chapter cycling that I explained. Its like I put the disc in then it plays chapter 1 through to 4 before anything happens. I dont like that.

...and how to delete Disc 2 menus that have links to special features located on disc 1, that kind of thing.

    EDIT:

OK this is where Im at, please bare with me as Im total newb.

I have extraxted files from source DVD using DVDDecrypter
Split DVD-9 into two parts using DVDFab
Opened part 1 in DVD Shrink and have found the chapter menus and want to extract the refrences to disc 2 and then edit them or add them to the part 2 complilation.

Is this even possible with current software?

    EDIT 2:

OK ive managed to extract part 2 chapter refrence menu's from part 1 using Vob Blanker and blanked part 2 refrences on part 1.

I guess I just do the same thing with part 2, go through and preview stuff then remove if neccessary.

Is there a program , like DVDFab but lets the user manuly split a DVD9 into 2 DVD-5's keeping the menus intact? edit Nevermind I see Vobblanker can do it. I would just blank out the whole second half of the movie and save as part 1.

Does DVDFab use any kind of compression when splitting?

WOW Vobblanker is awesome, Thanks for the help everyone.

I blanked chapter 43-80 and the scene index itself from the menu in Terminator 2 but its still showing up when I play in my standalone DVD player.
When previewed in VobBlanker they are not there.

Anyone know why this might be happening?
