mentioned the endpoints WEB and Android.

    And @stabbedbybrick
mentioned them (Endpoints) in discussion over iPlayer UHD content in the past.

A quick search shows that an "Streaming Endpoint" is a
    streaming server....

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/latest/stream-streaming-endpoint-concept

    https://docs.mk.io/docs/endpoints

Also probably important in the discussion over "endpoints" is
that Video streaming is done either via (Free *.mpd) DASH or (Apple *.m3u8) HLS method?

So ONE streaming server (endpoint) serving content
for WEB and Android (DASH) and another for iThings (HLS)?

So there is generally only two "Endpoints" being deployed serving DASH and/or HLS?

Also @billybanana mentioned WEB and Android,
    are there others? (iThings?, .....)

How does one look/probe for other "Endpoints" in case of CH4/iP?

One way is to use a network request interceptor and access their content on different devices: tv, android, etc. That way you can see what endpoints are used to obtain high quality content

I've decompiled a few Android apk's to find some server addresses in the past. Also trawling through GitHub for hours on end can uncover things you didn't know of before. I believe stabby found a few endpoints doing that.

  4. This is interesting
    Thank you for your input.

How do you get hold of ITV App for a Smart TV/PVR/STB?

    Endpoints:
    - Web Browser
    - Android phone/tablet
    - iThings
    - Smart TV (Android, ????)
    - PVR/DVR's (Android, ?????
    - STB's (Sky+, FireStick, ?????)

Also forgot to mention that encryption scheme (WV, PR, FP) could also be a factor?
Or it is purely the server side that can handle this with just one endpoint serving SD/HD/FHD/UHD/HDR content?
