I've just setup devine on a fresh windows install and Tubi seems to be working okay, even I run into errors with TUBI on the odd thing which Stabbedbrick would be able to fix and he has written the services.
I can't test Everybody Hates Chris as it says it's not available for me

I just got a new Mini PC and I certainly want to get stabbedbybrick's Devine Fork set up on it. What version of N_m3u8 DL-RE do I need to get as I think the latest version is not the one to get? Thanks in advance for any help. I think I want to get N_m3u8 DL-RE up and running first though.

Hi there princeconsort
I've just tested ITVX and it worked fine, have you got an account for ITVX and logged in and got a cookie? I use https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/get-cookiestxt-clean/ahmnmhfbokciafffnknlekllgcnafnie?hl=en I'm not sure if there's a better alternative
get a fresh cookie rename it to ITV with .txt file extension so ITV.txt put that in your cookies folder. -

iamkennethy: Have you tried WidevineProxy 2? I don't know how long this will last but I have found that it can get what is on Tubi. The drawback is you can't set it up to work away at getting you a whole season of a series; you have to do it one video at a time. It is fairly easy to get WidevineProxy 2 set up and it is an excellent addition to Devine and Freevine. It just gets encrypted video though so if something is not encrypted it cannot download that type of video.

I have went through the install process using the semi automatic guide for the N_m3u8 DL-RE Fork and for whatever reason the .yaml file was not created. Everything else is showing up with devine env info. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance:

Anyone else tried CBC recently?
I have tried downloading a few things and I am getting 403 blocked when it tries to refresh the token.
I can watch it through the browser ok when i am logged in.
Also I can use the stream detector chrome plugin and use N_m3u8DL-RE to download it fine.
It's just devine that is not working for me. -

Thank you for this information. It seemed I just about had it installed correctly but ran into some frustrating setbacks. But I do have it working on the other mini pc so perhaps this new fork I can get it up and running yet on my new Mini PC. I am taking a break until tomorrow.
-
I had a similar problem and fixed it by deleting the cache for CBC. On my installation it's at c:\users\<username>\AppData\Local\devine\Cache. I deleted the whole directory, but you probably only need to delete the json file.
Of course, you may have a different problem! -
I tried to get the N_m3u8 DL-RE fork up and running and I am probably going to have to start over. Any advice on what to do such as what to delete or anything else I give my thanks in advance.
Some very odd things such as devine env info showing I have a Cookie Folder and no such folder exists at the location indicated; I even turned on "show hidden items". This is a Windows 11 Pro Mini PC I am attempting to get Devine up and running on. I was trying to access the Cookie Folder as I have a cookie for CBC I wanted to put in there. When testing on Tubi the error report shows a problem with the CDM; I dropped in my CDM from the Devine I have running on my other Mini PC. -
I managed to fix my problem. Information left here just in case it happens to someone else.
Although CBC had worked fine before, the problem was with the password.
It had special characters in it. I removed the special characters and it started to work again.
I hadn't used CBC since Christmas time. So maybe something had changed with the devine service for CBC, that didn't like special characters. -
I have Windscribe VPN that is part of my Eset Anti Virus and Windscribe has a Proxy. Is there any way to get it to work with Devine? If so what can a proxy do and how does one get it working with programs such as Devine.
I haven't got Devine working on the new Mini PC yet but I am going to keep plugging away at it. Thanks in advance for any guidance and information that helps me along the way. -
Hi mate, I'm not sure about the proxy but I could try and help you out to get devine working on a fresh install of windows 11 24H2 there's a guide on this thread (Credit goes to StabbedByBrick, PSXman_uk and countless others in this forum)
I've changed the guide a bit to try and fix a few things or make it work for me, do you have a devine.yaml, devine cookies, and your WVD as a backup? as I setup devine with my guide then copy my cookies,WVD and devine.yaml back and it works.
DM me if you like. -

If you do want my guide to try out on a fresh system you're more than welcome, I've tested it on various pc's I have and it works.
-
Yes I will private message you as I do want to get this set up. I have everything copied over but devine won't let me do anything as it has the environment from the other computer and I don't know how to get it to point where it is suppose to point. This won't be a fresh install I am probably going to have to delete stuff and start over. Thank you and hopefully I can get this up and running with your guide.

found something pretty interesting while digging through the tubi service folder i have and looked in its config.yaml file and found this -
Some good news on the Devine front on my first Mini PC that I have Devine working on I changed the downloader to ariac2 in the main .yaml and one service that I had a lot of frustration with worked much better. On the new Mini PC getting Devine up and running is still eluding me but I am working through it and have gotten some advice. Devine env info reveals I am almost there but it doesn't like my .yaml
-
@Tom Saurus if you have it working on one machine providing you have the same python version try zipping the entire directory rename it on the one that doesn't work and unzip the one that works their i only have one copy of devine and zip it and move it to my other machines

Yesterday not long before evening started I did finally get the Devine N_m3u8 DL-RE fork set up and somehow it accessed hola proxy as well. I had given up on Devine and was trying to get Angela's UK Service program set up and that failed and I think I got Hola Proxy from that. It was a surprise to see Hola Proxy starting up in Devine and it wouldn't work until I shut off my VPN. I had an awful time last night with my DSL disconnecting off and on for several hours. But once that passed things went more smoothly with downloading. But when it comes to BBC Freevine and Devine just no success. The only thing that works is I use Videodownload Helper and look at the details of the hit and use YT-DLP using the -F command and the url to figure out the code for the resolution I want and the audio I want then get the video that way with YT-DLP. It means one video at a time but it gets the job done. But ideally Devine or Freevine would work for me and I could let it work away and do something else in the meantime such as watching a video.

Not sure PSXman's advice holds for everyone. The recommended way to install devine is with 'pip install devine'. That way the devine scripts are in ~/lib/pythonxx.x/site-packages/devine If you are working with a poetry install then zipping makes more sense as it is installed to a findable folder.
I only copy the devine.yaml between machines. -
Thoughts on the devine.yaml would be most aspects of it would transfer over fine from one machine to another but sometimes your user folder is different as on my first Mini PC I couldn't avoid setting up a Microsoft Account so that app folder has a different user name. On this new Mini PC I was able to just set up a local account which I thought was quite neat.

My main concern at the moment is somehow I have hola proxy working in the Devine fork that stabbedbybrick made and it has me worried as on Google in Reddit posts and other places it is considered malaware. Has anyone had any bad experiences with hola proxy? It might have been that prayer I said yesterday that got Devine working for me in the end.
Also with the Devine Fork I can't find my Cookie or Temp Folder. I worry about that as I have found that failed download files build up and take up tens of GB of space and on my first mini pc I don't have as much hard drive capacity to waste. Also some services need cookies.
Another thing even with hola proxy doing its thing Tubi TV is still acting peculiar on lets say the recently added "MacGuyver" saying it doesn't exist when it does exist and one can get the episodes probably with WidevineProxy one at a time.Last edited by Tom Saurus; 27th Jun 2025 at 06:48.

Ah! Microsoft; I copied a Linux OS's devine.yaml to a Windows machine with very little effort on my part. there is nothing hard about putting new folder paths in the yaml.
I avoid all the hassle by using ralpheonix's official devine install every-time. I accept N_m3u8DL-RE may download faster, but do I want to be bothered with poetry as yet another package manager?
