Hi all,
Very basic question that has me stumped, trying to trim a clip using:
On VirtualDub2 I open the AVS file, then make sureclip=AVISource("Capture 1.avi")
trimclip=trim(clip, 37, 139747)
trimclip
Video -> Direct Stream Copy
Audio -> Direct Stream Copy
Then File -> Save Video
VirtualDub projects the file to be 111.5 GB, the original file size is 41.6 GB, here is the MediaInfo for the original

What am I missing?
EDIT
Just did a check of the codec for a small sample of the Trim'd clip, it is a different codec. It appears the Huffuv that I have on my old Windows 7 laptop is different to the Windows 10 PC I am doing my work on.
Virtual Dub 2 - Huffyuv v2.1.1
Capture - Virtual Dub 1.9.x - Huffyuv V2.1.1 - CCESP Patch V0.2.2

Is this my problem? How do I get VirtualDub 2 to work with the correct Codec, I want to avoid re-doing my captures.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

The Huffyuv codecs are basically the same. You won't need the CCESP Patch, but it does no harm either. I would just leave as is.
Btw. How did your other experiment with the graph work out?Last edited by Sharc; 9th Sep 2023 at 02:18.

Understood, what about when I do want to run a script and keep the output lossless Huffyuv? Do I use full processing mode and select Huffyuv as the video compression?
Phew, thanks for clarifying that - was worried I would have to go messing with codecs again!
I need to play around a bit more with Graphstudio, but going to use what you shared and see how I go
