Apparently Notaghost is selling an API access with 1 115 585 Keys. I asked him this morning for the leaked getwvkeys DB and that's what he answered me !!

You have a web presence with a nutjob for a gatekeeper and only a few pass scrutiny and gain entry.

It's a great project for those anointed; just look through the 'applications to join' on discord and see the churlish behaviour of the gatekeeper. Many do not gain access. That is why the cdrm project gained so much traction.

And the search page at getwvkeys is only for members although I think you can ask the bot on the discord server to look up a pssh but you need to get access to that too.

The original database got lost when various anonymous file platforms folded during COVID .I also thought my own personal copy had been lost following an SSD laptop drive failure. But prompted by a user I searched my NAS and unexpectedly found a backup.

I rather lost heart with all this following the unexpected lack of co-operation.

My, now rather naive, vision was for an on-line pre-lookup database, which, with a couple of lines of python code, people would search for keys with a corresponding pssh, and only if the lookup failed would more python code call the user's own CDM to get keys in the usual way.

But, hey ho, I didn't count on the power players being so totally dismissive of my idea and wholly obstructive of my quest to access data.

I've often wondered why? Giving a database update on a monthly basis wouldn't cost anything and could be automated. The sites in question wouldn't lose anything - there is no advertising revenue to lose anyway, no extra bandwidth charges to incur. I received the counter argument that anyone could do a pssh lookup on their sites - well, with severe membership issues not considered, a physical site visit is a pain. But more than that, popular as these big sites may be - even their data isn't comprehensive. To fully work, both the main key generators would need to co-operate so two, or more, data pools could make a data lake. But I suppose it comes down to that mysterious abstract that some men seem to crave - 'kudos and power'. Or was is simple good old fashioned apathy? I suppose I'll never know.

There were a few very helpful and generous supporters, privately presenting me with their own personal key vaults, or stuff they 'found' and I thank them heartily for their support. But it wasn't, it isn't enough.

So I now regard this thread, and my vision for shared data, as dead a the proverbial dodo.

Some beginners asked for that deleted database via PM... I guess they sent the same message to many members.

In my opinion, they didn't miss anything. The original database meant nothing for me, because %99 of the keys I was looking for, were not in it.

Spot on the mark... I tried months ago to get access to this "free and open" service, only to find out that actually you had to jump through ever increasing hoops and applications, and even after navigating through the hoops and application and chasing it up numerous times... it was never responded to... complete waste of time.

Obviously theres some kind of ulterior, selfish motive for starting the service and only people that notaghost suspects will fulfil his ulterior motive get accepted.

I imagine Notoaghost has got himself in a bind. He says getwvkeys was close to folding but was saved by Nutjob. Sounds to me like a financial arrangement. Nutjob gets to run the domain but the domain-name remains in the ownership of Notaghost. Notaghost is a pretty decent fellow but has moved on, mentally and physically, leaving Nutjob to be absolutely corrupted by the power of the ring situation.
