my problem is resolution on Filter/preview
you cannot have a value greater than 720 and 576. if i set the values then in the queue window are returned to the default values. if i choose a home page profile i can't use the settings i want. i also tried to change the aspect ratio and zoom parameters but nothing.
i want set final video to 1280x534. how to do this?

  2. You need to change the profile level from "Xvid Home" to "Xvid HD 720p"

  3. You can also remux only your mkv to mp4, so you have no quality loss. Use my clever Ffmpeg-GUI for this.

  5. good idea ProWo (i know you from videohelp!) but my problem is that my TV does not read the codecs h264: I tried now, but the remux is in h264 and in my case it does not work.
that's why i have to do the video re-encoding.
or you have to create a version specifically for me that does a remux in mp4 but using the mpeg4 codec...

  6. You can use my frontend to recode your x264 to xvid or divx.

  7. yes, but what difference between your frontend and simple ffmpeg?
and xvid on my tv no work correctly. i prefer mpeg4 and don't see on your frontend (or divx corresponds to mpeg4?)
besides i have another problem read my other post here: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/400703-forced-output-ffmpeg

You must specify the DAR at container level.
You can also load your mkv as is, main, video conversion, set resize without crop, in the pad fields insert 1280 (width) and 720 (height), set DAR to 16:9, set the other settings as you wish an click convert. This way your video is endoded with the black borders you need to mantain the correct aspect ratio of your movie.
