  1. @ProWo
    v3.4.4.21

I wish you would consider adding a 'Like Source' checkbox to the current FPS input box.
It will greatly speed up my batch processing.

    Thank you

    [=videoAI;2779879]@ProWo,
Currently, if you batch process multiple files, they all inherit the same FPS of the first job. Selecting
'Like Source' would resolve this issue.
As always .. there is nothing wrong with my environment

You can achieve this with a workaround.
Create the first batch and close the program.
Edit the BT_open.txt file, delete the FPS info from the video filter.
    e.g. fps=24000/1001,
    (don't forget the comma)
Save the file and start clever.
Click on the main page, click on batch tasks.
Now you can add your other videos.

  7. @ProWo
    v3.4.4.21

I am getting a 'Conversion Error' when using the x265 HEVC encoder.

The conversion status completes to 100%, but an FFmpeg / clever
conversion failed error is generated as shown.

all the settings are at auto, tried mp4/mkv containers, even different Pixel format settings.
all produced the same conversion error.

The error log does not show any errors !! Different AI services say there isn't any errors
in the log. I see no errors. The resulting video file seems to be OK & playable, but Clever
insists on deleting the file after the 'error'.

Any idea what's going on. Log file attached.

    Clever Command:
    Video ---> x265 (hevc) - Stream ID 0 #FF# from?C:\T\Keep\Plant.mp4?20000?-hide_banner -loglevel error -stats -y -fflags +genpts -i "C:\T\Keep\Plant.mp4" -vf fps=25000/1000,colorspace=all=bt709:iall=bt709 -map 0 -c:a copy -c copy -c:v:0 libx265 -crf 28 -aspect 0.56 -dn -metadata:g encoding_tool="clever FFmpeg-GUI" ?C:\T\Keep\Plant_V0.mp4?

  8. Comparison between MP4 and MOV Formats

    File Extension and Compatibility
MP4 files use the extension .mp4, while MOV files use .mov.
Both formats are widely recognized, but MP4 is more universally
compatible across various platforms and devices, making it the
preferred choice for online streaming and playback. MOV, on the
other hand, is primarily optimized for Apple's ecosystem, which
can limit its compatibility with non-Apple devices.

    Development and Standards
MP4 was developed by the ISO/IEC, while MOV was created by
Apple. This difference in origin contributes to their varying levels
of support across different operating systems and applications.
MP4 is often favored for its broader acceptance in the industry.

    Compression and Quality
Both formats support various codecs, including H.264 for video
    and AAC for audio. They can achieve similar video quality;
however, MP4 files tend to be smaller due to more aggressive
compression techniques. This makes MP4 more suitable for
streaming and online use, where file size can be a critical factor.

    Editing Features
MOV files are designed with advanced editing capabilities in mind,
making them ideal for professional video editing environments.
They offer features that facilitate high-quality editing processes.
In contrast, MP4 files are more straightforward and may lack
some of the advanced editing functionalities found in MOV.

    Metadata and Subtitles
Both formats support metadata and subtitles, allowing for rich
information to be embedded within the files. This feature is
essential for both formats, especially in professional and
streaming contexts, ensuring that users can access additional
    information and captions.

    Usage Context
MP4 is commonly used for streaming and online video distribution
due to its smaller file size and compatibility. MOV is often used in
professional video editing and production settings, where
high-quality video and advanced editing features are required.

    Overall Similarity
The similarity between MP4 and MOV can be estimated at around
80-90%. While they share many technical specifications and
capabilities, their intended use cases, platform compatibility, and
editing features create notable differences in their applications.

This error is false, caused by a wrong keyword in the encoding error detection.
    Is fixed now.

I see a new backup button .. but don't see update button any longer.
I hope this means Clever will auto update itself now ?

For those of us involved in testing, and having to update clever few times a day.
The Settings/update screen isn't a great help. it shows me my version of Clever,
Which I already know [it's in my title bar] and it doesn't show me the two most
    important pieces of information :
    1. Is there a new update? and
    2. What new version number I would be updating to?
Currently, We are clicking update blindly, without knowing if there is an update or
what version we are updating to. I, for example, click on update every time I start
Clever, just to make sure I am testing on the newest version of the App, which is
a load on the server, and seeing 'server not available' messages is not uncommon.
is it not possible to compare the user version and the server version and inform
the user if there is a need to update, especially with the updates getting bigger
    with DLLs and all.

BTW, a lot of programs do this, ex: Irfan view, Paint.net, Youtube-DL, etc ..

  12. I have a question not related to Clever. I hope it's OK.
Why cropping a video? What is the benefit?

A lot of videos I see say 1080p, but they are cropped to 800p. I think they were encoded with Handbrake in one of the default presets which crop the videos. When I encode a video, I keep the size/aspect same as the original video.

    Yes, I've implemented a simple app backup/restore.
It handles one backup only atm.
If you click the "Settings & more" button, in the backgroud is done an automatic update check.
If there is a new nightly/release, an "Update available" label with the new version info will be shown, and the update button reappears.

Have a look at this discussion:
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/403251-Benefits-of-video-cropping

From a purely technical point of view, cropping involves cutting away all unnecessary parts of the image, which are usually the black bars at the top and bottom, or on the right and left.
This has no effect on the file size, as these parts take up virtually no storage space.

When cropping, however, you must specify the correct display ratio, otherwise the image will be distorted.

I personally crop to remove station logos that are not in the image.

Ultimately, everyone must decide for themselves whether cropping makes sense.

    Edit #1
Just tried the new update feature .. cool
but, when the color turns yellow, and there is a new update, shouldn't the label say
'Update Available' instead of 'Backup Available' ?

    3.4.5

A couple of minor changes when you have time:
    - Various, Profile : Constrained is truncated ..
    - Various, Rotate: I think g.e. is supposed to be e.g. [or Ex. for example]
........................... Also, is there really a need for 0 [no rotation]

    Keep up the tremendous effort

    3.4.5.01

I have few issues with the new update/backup feature
    1. The Update & Backup should not share one button, because they are distinct processes.
    2. I was notified today that an update is available [yellow color]. I wanted to backup my stable
version [3.4.5] before updating to [3.4.5.01] but I couldn't [no backup button; only upgrade].
So I thought clever will back my older version automatically during the update, but that also didn't
      happen.
I ended up with 3.4.5.01, but my backup is still the old [clever_3.4.4.24.bck] and not [3.4.5],
and even now I can't do a manual backup of my new ver. [3.4.5.01].
The workflow of both processes isn't good at all ..
    3. Also the message [Backup available is very confusing ; It should say 'update is available']

Kindly revise or fix .. thank you and keep the new features coming ..

I have few issues with the new update/backup feature
    Thx for the hint.

    I've changed it this way:
    The button sharing remains.

If there is a new update, you'll see an yellow label with "Update available", the update version, an active update button.
If you click this button, you have two choices: Update or not update.

If you update, the app wil be updated to the newest version (nightly or release).
If you don't update, you go back to the settings window.

If there's a backup, you'll see the backup available info with the backup version and a restore button.
If there's no backup, you'll see the backup button only.

If you want make a new backup, you must delete the old first.
As i said, the backup is a simple solution and will remain this way, because it's not really necessary.
