I’m new to encoding and have a few questions. I am currently using handbrake 0.9.5 to do my encodes and need a little help is figuring out the correct settings for the size of the video.
I have several dvd videos that are in the following sizes and would like to convert it to mp4’s. The dvd videos doesn’t have any black bars and looks like it was designed for standard definition tvs or anamorphic dvds. Also I would like to have the videos fill up the entire widescreen tv and display the aspect correctly on a wide screen display. I used information from these forums.

PAL 720x576 (not sure what to set this one to)
NTSC 720x480 (I used the following settings that worked (720x400, 640x432, and 640x360) What would be the best setting here?
Thanks.

Use highest resolution/frame size. I guess it's the default/automatic.
