Play DVD Audio in QuickTime for Windows?

Hi, I have QuickTime, and with the help an MPEG2 plugin, i can play DVDs, but there's NO sound. I'm wondering if QuickTime can somehow play DVD audio (i believe it is AC-3 format) in Windows?

Just installed AC3Filter, but it does NOT work with QuickTime, i still get NO sound from DVD, even restarted,too. Any other codecs or suggestions would be great.

If you are using Windows...does the DVD play in Media Player? Why, may I ask, do you need to use QuickTime in preference to VLC portable or MPC?

Just use VLC player and forget about Quicktime player.

There is an "A52" codec (aka AC3) for Mac (which I believe is bundled with Perian) that plugs into Quicktime for Mac, but there is NO SUCH codec within the Quicktime platform on Windows. Best to either use VLC (or similarly self-contained player) or rewrap from QT -> AVI and use standard Directshow AC3 plugins (like the AC3 filter mentioned above).

Well, VLC plays choppy video, especially QuickTime format, on every PC i have used. What is meant by "rewrap QT--> AVI"? Isn't AVI a video codec?

AVI is a container, not a codec.

On Windows, MPC-HC + LAV Splitter + ffdshow is all you need for playing MOV / QT / MP4 files.

Both VLC and QuickTime suck too much, just don't use them, case solved.

VLC plays anything....and very well on my PC.
