  1. Hey guys,

I have been reading through some forums because and i know very little about encoding and decoding. I was very excited when I get my LG 42LW5300 TV. All 3D content works great from 3d bluray's to 3D gaming except watching 3D MKV's from my pc. I have a xfx radeon 6450 with a 25ft hdmi 1.4 cable but here is my dilemma. Every video I play has serious ghosting or I have to focus my eyes big time which creates a strain on my eyes so I don't even watch it. I read some other threads that suggested using powerdvd version 11. I bought that recently and the 3D does seem a tad bit better then playing with media player classic home cinema x64 but the ghosting just won't go away. How can I set my PC up to where it will synch up the pictures with no ghosting or focusing. Another thing is to see the 3D effect I have to be sitting in a certain angle and on my 3D Blu-ray's I can be anywhere in my room and the 3D effect stays. I have researched everywhere and either I have found extremely complex tutorials that are way over my head or solutions that just don't go anywhere. This website seemed like a great place to get some help as from other threads on how to Burn 3D Blu-rays seem way too complex for my knowledge. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

3D Mkv is not a "standard" (yet). So any 3D mkv files you have will have NO quality control over exactly how they were arrived at. (and what format they consider to be "3D" - could be Sbs, T/B, Interlaced, Anaglyph...).

Plus, we have no way of knowing what kind of settings you are using in your pipeline (player software, display card, etc), so it would take a whole LOT of troubleshooting to pin down exactly what's going wrong here. Could be something you've done, who knows?

If you are a little clearer about your whole setup, that's a start...

Moving you to our software player section.

Try Bino and see how it handles your mkvs.

  4. Thanks for the reply. I currently have an XFX Radeon 6450 and I have a 25ft hdmi 1.4 cable ran from graphics card to my LGTV. I have tried vlc, stereoscopic player, windows media player, power dvd and now bino. Power DVD worked the best and bino seemed to have many options but I cant adjust those options while video is playing to see if it works better or not. By default, bino made my eyes feel like they were straining to focus on 3D but bino also seemed to packed with settings specifically for 3D content. I also have an AMD Phenom XII Triple core processor running at 2.6ghz if that matters. All of the MKVS are side by side. Is there any particular setting or any advice or just anything at all you guys can assist me with by trying settings on bino or powerdvd or whatnot? As I said in previous post all the help anybody provides me I will greatly appreciate every bit of it.

rollcage7 you should have started your own thread and not hijacked this one that doesn't even come close to your problem.
